Every year, Crouse's Cleaners has the privilege of caring for hundreds of wedding gowns of every type and style. We take pride in helping you look your best on your wedding day and in preserving your precious keepsake. Your wedding gown is one of your most precious possessions, it deserves Crouse’s Cleaners expert care .
Before your wedding day...
~ Crouse's Cleaners has professionally trained staff that will press your gown so it looks perfect on your wedding day.
~ Don't forget the rest of the wedding party and family. Crouse's Cleaners will make sure everyone looks their best.
We can take care of all the cleaning and pressing of suits, tuxedos, bridesmaid and flower girl dresses too.
After your wedding day...
~ We pride ourselves in using state of the art equipment and years of experience to clean the most delicate of gowns. It is important to have your gown cleaned as soon as possible after your wedding day. Stains can cause fibre damage and become more difficult to remove the longer they remain in the fabric.
~ Be sure to request one of our specially designed, acid-free keepsake boxes for worry-free storage to ensure your wedding gown remains in pristine condition for years to come.
Storing your gown...
~ Remove your gown from the plastic bag. Plastic does not allow the gown to breathe and can cause yellowing.
~ If your gown is on a hanger it is recommended you wrap the gown in a white sheet or unbleached muslin to protect it.
~ Ideally, headpieces, veils and other accessories should not be stored in the box because they can cause colour changes or damage to the gown's fabric.
~ Store your gown in a cool, dry location like an office or spare bedroom closet. Storing your gown in a basement or room with higher humidity can cause mildew.
~ Gown storage methods slow down the aging process. Unfortunately, storage methods cannot absolutely guarantee against yellowing or possible deterioration of fabric.
~ However, by allowing us the privilege of caring for your gown, you will have taken all the right steps to minimize this. Consider checking the condition of your gown every 3-5 years.
Wearing an heirloom gown...
If you are wearing an heirloom gown on your wedding day, allow at least a month before the wedding for professional care. Older gowns generally need more attention than new ones because many fabrics naturally yellow or deteriorate with age. Before deciding to wear a cherished heirloom, consult a professional at Crouse's Cleaners to discuss the pros and cons.
